Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book adds to our understanding of French history by publishing 75 previously unpublished primary source documents known as cahiers de dolà ances, or grievance notebooks, from the 1789 electoral district of Nancy, France. Written on the cusp of the French Revolution, these notebooks provide an unprecedented glimpse into the hopes and concerns of the rural population of the region as they prepared to send representatives to the Estates General, a body which would profoundly reshape France. The author provides extensive historical context and analysis, enhancing the richness of these documents, which offer a unique perspective on the political, social, and economic conditions that led to one of the most pivotal moments in French history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Nancy, Imprimerie Thomas, s.d.
