Il a lu avec beaucoup dintérêt son Histoire de la musique (Histoire de la musique depuis l'Antiquité jusqu'à nos jours, 4 volumes, Paris, Max Eschig éditeur, 1909-1925). Ayant découvert des musiciens dont il ne soupçonnait pas lexistence, il lui demande de faire connaître les uvres hors de son cabinet de travail. Il le remercie pour la mention spéciale quil accorde aux Balkans mais a oublié dans sa liste « notre doyen » qui a été le premier à venir en France : Edouard Candella, ancien directeur du conservatoire de Jassy. Il évoque brièvement son parcours et communique une référence dun article de Léon Passurf dans le Courrier Musical de 1917 et donne ladresse de ce dernier pour le contacter.
