Studium in Erlangen, Berlin, Tübingen und Bonn. Nach bestandenem Examen Hauslehrer der Kinder des Obersten von Roeder am Genfersee. 1861 wurde er auf Veranlassung des damaligen… Kultusministers August von Bethmann-Hollweg preußischer Gesandtschaftsprediger in Rom. Neben seiner umfassenden sozialen Tätigkeiten war von der Goltz vor allem kirchenpolitisch aktiv. Er gehörte zur Gründerrige der Evangelischen Vereinigung. Von 1892 bis zu seinem Tode war Goltz Geistlicher Vizepräsident des Evangelischen Oberkirchenrates und somit der ranghöchste Geistliche der preußischen Landeskirche. 1898 nahm er an der Palästinareise Kaiser Wilhelms II. teil und beteiligte sich als oberster geistlicher Vertreter des Kirchenregiments an der Einweihung der Erlöserkirche in Jerusalem. - In Frakturschrift gedruckt. - Einband berieben und angestaubt. Handschriftlicher Besitzvermerk von alter Hand in Tinte auf dem fliegenden Vorsatz. Papier etwas angestaubt und teils leicht braunfleckig und knickspurig. - Außen nicht sehr schönes, innen insgesamt gut erhaltenes Exemplar. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 990 8° (21,5 x 14 cm).
