Published by the Stichting Mia Goovaerts in 2020, Liefdeknoop presents Goovaerts' distinctive figurative paintings, in which the human body, faces, hands, clothing and intimate situations become vehicles for exploring vulnerability, attachment, isolation, desire and human relationships. The title, literally meaning "Love Knot", reflects a recurring tension within the work: human connection as something capable of binding people together while simultaneously restricting or entangling them. Illustrated throughout with reproductions of paintings by Mia Goovaerts. Poetic texts by Hanna Kirsten and photography by Ellen Goovaerts. The volume is dedicated to Dominique Baston. The publication is documented in the official bibliography of the Stichting Mia Goovaerts. This particular copy contains an extensive handwritten presentation inscription to "Lutgart", ending with the words "met mijn hand en mijn hart" ("with my hand and my heart"). The inscription is followed by a short name/signature which appears possibly to read "Miek". The writer has not been identified, however, and the inscription is NOT attributed to Mia Goovaerts.
