Original heavy paper (or quite thin cardstock) poster, approx. H 23 inches x L 18 inches. Pictorial front side has strong toning, some soiling, several tears, shallow edge chips, and some surface abrasions. Features color image of gray elephant with red GOP blanket straddling its back; elephant's trunk strangling a brown peanut…with big teeth (a caricature of Jimmy Carter); elephant's front right foot stomping on an arrow sign "Plains." Large sticker "Reagan for President" affixed at poster's upper blank margin. Publisher/printer copyright statement "1976 GMI Inc., Cullman, AL. 35055" at bottom right. Toning, soiling, and some surface abrasions to poster's blank verso. Per the copyright date the poster must have been published for the Gerald Ford campaign against Jimmy Carter in 1976 but was re-purposed for the Ronald Reagan campaign in 1980. Evidently published by a Cullman, Alabama based company for which information is elusive - no current incorporation information available via a google search nor any applicable business entity record on the Alabama Secretary of State website.
