"Painting in Sweden during the second world war, as portrayed in art reviews in the daily press of exhibitions in Stockholm 1939-1945 ". Abstract: "This investigation is based on information from approximately 1200 art critics in the leading Stockh…olm dailies. The material is divided in 10 different categories all dealing with different aspects of how the war situation could influence the art. The study also gives the reader a good view of the art that was exhibited in Stockholm during the second world war. How did the political development influence the artists? Did the artists react against the war by 'engaged' paintings? Did the isolation from the cultural life outside Sweden affect the art? These are some of the questions answered by the study. Conclusion is; the Swedish art did not reflect the world war at all, but both artists and art critics were aware of the fact that art could give meaning and consolation to people in a hard and anxious time. There was almost no 'engaged' art. On the contrary, the art was mainly idyllic and the paintings contained very often motifs from the Swedish nature and quiet family scenes, mostly in a traditional way.".

Med ett kapitel om frikyrkobyggnader i Stockholm, samt ett om renoveringen av…Trefaldighetskyrkan. Med personregister. (Baksidestext:) "Tack vare en stor donation av generalkonsulinnan Emma Benedicks kunde man 1894 uppföra Trefaldighetskyrkan på Majorsgatan 5-7 i Stockholm. En byggnad som många kanske gått förbi men aldrig uppmärksammat, trots att den ligger i den centrala delen av Östermalm. Kyrkan är magnifik och en god representant för nygotiken, den arkitekturstil som var tongivande under andra hälften av 1800-talet. I dag är kyrkan avkristnad och såld till en privatperson. Här skildras kyrkans färgstarka historia. Vilka arkitekter som formgav den, vilka material som användes, utsmyckningen av kyrkorummet, den romantiska orgeln och de skimrande glasfönsterna. Vidare berättas om hur trakten kring Östermalmstorg såg ut under de år då kyrkan byggdes. Flera av Stockholms frikyrkor, varav ett antal fortfarande används, presenteras kortfattat med text och bild. Några står kvar endast som minnen av en tid som flytt".
