Kants berühmte These, dass Anschauungen ohne Begriffe blind seien, scheint zu besagen, dass dies nicht möglich ist. Tatsächlich hat Kant eine ausführliche Theorie darüber entwickelt, wie wir zur Anschauung von Gegenständen gelangen, die Begriffen bei der Genese solcher Anschauungen eine zentrale Rolle zuweist. Die Abhandlung kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass man das exegetische Dilemma nur dann befriedigend lösen kann, wenn man eine Kantische Unterscheidung berücksichtigt, die man weitgehend aus seinen nicht veröffentlichten Reflexionen und den Nachschriften seiner Logikvorlesungen rekonstruieren muss, nämlich die zwischen deutlichen, klaren und dunklen Begriffen.
