Sie lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit auf drei verschränkte Felder. Erstens thematisiert sie die deutsche Verantwortung für Drohnentötungen in Ländern, mit denen weder Deutschland noch die NATO offiziell im Krieg stehen, wie Afghanistan, Pakistan, Jemen und Somalia. Diese Länder fallen in den Bereich der Islamwissenschaft und der Regionalwissenschaften. Dortige Drohnentötungen wurden bisher jedoch, und dies beschreibt das zweite Feld, trotz ihrer weitreichenden sozialen und psychologischen Folgen für die ansässige Bevölkerung, in diesen Wissenschaften nicht systematisch aufgegriffen. In vorliegendem Text, der Teil eines größeren Forschungsprojekts darstellt, wird deshalb drittens eine medien- und kulturwissenschaftliche Untersuchung des Phänomens Drohnentötungen vorgeschlagen, die sich selbst innerhalb der Islam- und Regionalwissenschaften verortet.

When he was a young man, Qaradawi attended a lecture by Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, and immediately joined the organization's youth wing. After earning his degree in theology at al-Azhar University in Cairo, Qaradawi settled in Qatar, where he played a pivotal role in establishing a system of Islamic higher education.
