Red plastic coil binding intact, no tears to page perforations. No pub date but newspaper reviews in the Alton Evening Telegraph are dated January 21, 1950. Oblong quarto: 28.5 X 21.5 cm. These photographs "present for the first time a complete picture of the bluffs skirting the Mississippi River from Alton to Grafton", Illinois. At the time these photos were taken, the McAdams Recreational Parkway was "nearly half usable" and the projected remainder was to serve as a gateway to Marquette State Park at the confluence of the Mississippi River and the Illinois River. Robert K. Graul was chief staff photographer for the Alton Evening Telegraph for forty-one years. His photography is included in the collections of Herman T. Other photographs came from the collections of local families, with their own histories through many generations.
