The book is in very god condition with just very minor shelf-wear to the extremities of the cover. The binding is tight. There is light tanning to the edges of the text block and a small mark to the top edge, otherwise the pages are clean and unmarked. The dust jacket is fair with heavy shelf-wear, particularly to the top edge, with numerous chips, creases and tears, including a 1.5" tear to the head of the spine. Boards are sunned in general, more so on spine and extremities. Stains along left side of front panel; back panel has several stains including a damp stain along the back fore-edge. Foxing and age-toning to side and lower page edges. Plate pages are heavy, akin to card stock. Shadow transfers in upper margin of Plate II. Gutter is cracked pp. 22-23 of Ads at the back.
