With a clipped blue dust jacket with black titles to spine and front and a drawing to front. 360 pp., with numerous black and white drawings and a fold-out map. The book is in very god condition with just very minor shelf-wear to the extremities of the cover. The binding is tight. There is light tanning to the edges of the text block and a small mark to the top edge, otherwise the pages are clean and unmarked. The dust jacket is fair with heavy shelf-wear, particularly to the top edge, with numerous chips, creases and tears, including a 1.5" tear to the head of the spine. There is heavy tanning to the extremities of the jacket.

Boards are sunned in general, more so on spine and extremities. Stains along left side of front panel; back panel has several stains including a damp stain along the back fore-edge. Foxing and age-toning to side and lower page edges. Plate pages are heavy, akin to card stock. Shadow transfers in upper margin of Plate II. Gutter is cracked pp. 22-23 of Ads at the back.
