Powers authored most of the book, but was murdered in his San Francisco apartment before he could finish and Nelson took over and finished the project and published the final product. The subject of the book is Reuben Denton Nevius, a preacher who felt called to the West in the days of its settlement and help establish churches in Eastern Oregon, Washington and Idaho. He also was an avid botanist who passed on his knowledge to anyone who would listen, a dedicated builder of churches and a gifted teacher. Newspaper review laid-in. Signed by Author(s).
