It includes important essays on Yeats as well as on his less famous predecessors: on alternative traditions represented by Austin Clarke and Louis Mac Neice; on Irish Modernists (such as Thomas Kinsellla) who have rejected the Yeatsian notion of tradition; on Patrick Kavanagh, a crucial influential figure, and on the literary heritage of contemporary Irish poets Seamus Heaney, Derek Mahon, Brendan Kennelly, Paul Muldoon and Paul Durcan. Contributors include: Gerald Dawe, Seamus Deane, Peter Denman, Seamus Heaney, Brendan Kennelly, Edna Longley, Antoinette Quinn, Robert Welch. Neat pencil annotations to Brendan Kennelly's essay on Derek Mahon. A near fine copy without any damage, library stamps or other markings. Signed by Editors.…
