Aggiungi al carrelloCouverture rigide. Condizione: Bon. Edition originale.

With 25 illustrations, 3 tables & 3 maps in the text. French text. - This work is a comprehensive monograph of the genus Melampyrum, a genus of about 20 species of herbaceous flowering plants in the family Orobanchaceae known commonly as cow wheat. Now Melampyrum appears as a distant relative of other genera of Rhinantheae. They are native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. They are hemiparasites on other plants, obtaining water and nutrients from host plants, though some are able to survive on their own without parasitising other plants. Melampyrum species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species, including the mouse moth It delves into their taxonomy, morphology, distribution, and ecology, offering detailed descriptions of various species and their habitats. The plants of Melampyrum are primarily found in temperate regions of Europe, Asia, and North America, thriving in diverse environments such as meadows, forests, and grasslands. The book includes 25 illustrations, three tables, and three maps that help clarify the plants' characteristics and their geographical spread. Published between 1914 and 1916, it reflects the growing professionalization of botany during the early 20th century. The author, Gustave Beauverd (1867-1938), was a Swiss botanist known for his contributions to floristic studies, particularly of the Swiss flora. Condition : very good copy. Keywords : BOTANY,
