Printed letterpress with plates by Nister in Bavaria. Large 8vo HC in original robin's egg blue cloth with ornate 6 color pictorial design to decorative binding's uppe…r board and gilt 2 color title design to spine. Ilustrated with 6 color litho plates and numerous b&w plates. Decorative pictorial binding is striking and well preserved save for a 3 inch closed tear to the binding cloth from the top edge of the front external hinge. . Mild bruising and superficial abrasion to cloth at corners. Page block edges with original red stain as issued. Binding shaken and with half-title and frontis leaves leaves loose from the binding. A plate mid- text loose an starting. Printed on heavy glossy stock paper, a little toned but readable. Flawed but attractive still. G+ .
