Van Sellar. The brand new 79-page 8.5" x 11" booklet is spiral bound with the front cover protected with a vinyl sheet. Except where noted below, individual biographies from the original book are not included in this book, but will soon be available in a separate booklet. Leather binding is in very nice condition with minor rubbing and a small tear in the front cover cloth (repaired). Internally clean and tight with all edges gilt. County map of Illinois (colored, full page) follows title page. Bateman's portrait on map verso. Binding: 3/4 dark leather, with dark green cloth. Front hinge weak, but not detached, still firm. Rear hinge is sound. Volume seems to have spent much of its early years laying on a table, rear cover down. Dampness has mottled the green cloth, shifting some color to turquoise. There is some rippling of rear pages.On front cover there are light ripples in top front corner of first five pages, and not affecting the title page. All of that said, the volume is intact and in good plus condition. The spine is bright and beautiful, with minor rubbing to the leather. Weight is 5 lbs, 12 oz.…
