Translated from the German, into Danish, by J. Chr. Bay. The wrappers are bound in quarter leather, with gilt lettering on spine, by the great book binder Juul Lassen. Morocco-backed boards. Marbled by hand. This book is an early work of Jens Christian Bay, the librarian of the John Crerar Library. Top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed. Pasted on front pastdown is a tiny (1.5 cm. x 1.25 cm) bookplate consisting of two ornate initials, possibly JL, which may indicate that this was Juul Lassen's own copy. One of 850 copies. First edition, limited to 850 copies. This popular biblio novel is presented here in Danish. J. Christian Bay, the noted bibliophile, provides a foreword. Illustrated by Axel Nygaard.
