There are 465 period pictures, most never before published, of Texas Rangers made during their "badge-toting" days. In addition to biographical sketches of each of these men, there are numerous pictures of the gear they used - their guns, badges, holsters, hand cuffs, leg irons, boots, hats, leather cuffs, chaps, spurs, saddles, etc. A few of the more notable rangers included in this study are John Coffee Hays, Ben McCulloch, William Alexander "Big Foot" Wallace, John R. Hughes, William Jesse "Bill" McDonald, Frank Hamer, Manuel T. "Lone Wolf" Gonzaullas, Homer Garrison Jr., Clinton Peoples, and Walter Russell. A fascinating book.
