Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book provides a collection of reports from various Lutheran congregations in the United States, primarily from the state of Pennsylvania in the mid-18th century. As the author was one of the pastors serving this region during this time period, the book offers a rare firsthand account of the lives and challenges of German Lutheran immigrants. Of particular note, these reports reveal the struggles faced by the community as they sought to maintain their faith in the face of prevailing secular influences. The author thus provides valuable insights into the development of Christianity in colonial America and further develops our understanding of the role of religious practice on the social cohesion and communal identity of the Lutheran community. Beyond this, the author's accounts of his encounters with community members and his insights into congregational life add another layer to his work, offering a unique contribution to religious and social history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
