Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. In the tradition of concrete poetry and Fluxus: visual poems and more from Brazilian artist and poet Alex HamburgerDrawing from notions of "bad poetry" as the critical undoing of normative taste, Antilogy brings together works by the Brazilian artist and poet Alex Hamburger. Central to Hamburger's practice and engagement with poetry is a focus on writing as the expression of a performative disruption and playful reworking of semiotic systems. With references to Fluxus intermediality, Brazilian concretism, experimental music and sound poetry, Hamburger's work dynamically collapses the distinctions between fact and fiction, theory and performance, system and noise. From visual poems to abstract narrative to personal fantasy, Antilogy reminds us about the potent sense of refusal and experimentation that all art should carry. With dedication of the 1st copy by Ricardo Basbaum to Max [Hinderer] + Falke [Pisano]. - Binding minimally rubbed, otherwise good and very clean. Bilingual Portuguese and English. - Alex Hamburger and Ricardo Basbaum met each other, in Rio de Janeiro, in the first half of the 1980s, a period which is marked by the beginning of their initiatives towards the local art circuit. Right from the start they were drawn to each other due to a mutual interest regarding interactive possibilities of language fusion and interweaving. Hamburger took the poetic experience as a departure point, developing throughout the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s works in Visual and Sound Poetry, Object Poems, Artist's Books, Performances. Installations,Video, etc., thus contributing to a greater understanding and acceptance of these techniques that were still incipient in the Cariocas art scene of the 1980s. He worked in partnership with the artist Marcia X., with whom he established a highly fruitful collaboration for 8 years. Basbaum has been exhibiting regularly since 1981, when he was a member of Dupla Especializada (alongside Alexandre Dacosta) and Seis Maos (together with Alexandre Dacosta and Barráo) and participated in the activities of A Moreninha group. From 1990 onwards, he collaborated with the Visorama group, was co-editor of item magazine and co-director of the Agora agency. With diagrams, drawings, texts, audio pieces and installations, he creates devices through which a relevant role is played by the personal and individual experience of agents and observers. pt Gewicht in Gramm: 550.
