Spine title has lost all color but still fairly legible due to embossed lettering. Very attractive… pastoral book plate on peach/grey/cream marbled endpapers showing a horse in a courtyard/field with crest above. It is the former book of Bayard Tuckerman Jr. (April 19, 1889 - April 14, 1974) was an American jockey, businessman, and politician. Hinge papers fine, 119 page block tight & crisp with occasional light foxing and marginal finger soil here and there, nothing offensive. Original b/w photo illustrated, un-clipped dust wrapper from the sixth edition shows four short closed tears at panel edges, handling soil on cream background and red/black lettering. This book is loaded with terrific b/w photos, many of them pertaining to side-saddle riding throughout. A very attractive, readable and informative work on riding aside or astride.
