Condizione: New. Binding still retains some crispness. Else a very good copy in a very good dust jacket. Long regarded as a highpoint in American literature and beloved by generations of readers not just in the United States but worldwide, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD won the 1961 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction just after its 1960 publication, the latter event being what this particular edition commemorates. And the novel's highly successful 1962 movie adaptation, nominated for eight Academy Awards and winner of three, further ingrained the compelling story of daughter Scout her attorney father Atticus Finch into the American consciousness. While author Harper Lee was always quite private she was never a recluse as that reputation was promulgated by the remoteness of her rural hometown of Monroeville, Alabama which afforded protection from an incessant barrage of autograph seekers that would mark her public appearances in New York and elsewhere. But, of course, signed copy demand never waned and HarperCollins issued this 35th anniversary edition (followed by a 40th edition too) with publisher-arranged author signings in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa as well as Lee's own preferred many-year-running annual Christmas signing event at Montgomery's Capitol Book & News.
