A vintage juvenile railroad adventure centered on the mysterious "Ghost Train," issued as part of Goldsmith's popular boys' adventure fiction of the period. This copy retains the striking original pictorial dust jacket featuring a steam locomotive rushing through the night, an important feature since many surviving copies are found without the jacket. Also laid into this copy is a period printed promotional/synopsis slip headed "Ghost Train — By Lyle Harper," describing the story and its railroad setting. An appealing extra piece of period publisher ephemera to accompany the book. Copyright page states Copyright, 1932, The Goldsmith Publishing Company, Made in U.S.A. Condition: Very Good in Very Good dust jacket, based on the photographs shown. Jacket remains bright and substantially complete, with light edge and corner wear, minor rubbing/handling, and some small creases or short closed tears at the extremities. No major jacket loss visible in the photographs shown. Interior exhibits the expected age toning associated with this inexpensive 1930s Goldsmith production.
