Mastitis can be classified into three major types: clinical mastitis (…CM), subclinical mastitis (SCM) and chronic mastitis (ChM) (Anonymous, 2003). In CM, there is swelling, heat, pain, and indurations observed in the mammary gland and also changes in milk color, clots are present in the milk and there are large numbers of leukocytes in the milk (Sharma and Maiti, 2010). In SCM, there are no gross inflammatory changes in the udder tissue and no changes physical appearance on milk. Only increased somatic cell count (SCC) in the milk, the presence of pathogenic organisms in the milk, and an inflammatory response that can only be detected by screening tests such as California Mastitis Test (CMT), White Side Test (WST), Surf Field Mastitis Test (SFMT) (Sachin and Suresh 2006; Madut et al., 2009). In ChM, udder becomes hard due to fibrosis, the quarters may become thickened, firm, nodular and atrophic. 88 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Mastitis ist ein entzündlicher Zustand der Brustdrüse, der durch Veränderungen der physischen Eigenschaften des Euters oder der Milch gekennzeichnet ist (Nazifi et al., 2011). Mastitis kann in drei Haupttypen unterteilt werden: klinisc…he Mastitis (CM), subklinische Mastitis (SCM) und chronische Mastitis (ChM) (Anonymous, 2003). Bei CM werden Schwellungen, Hitze, Schmerzen und Verhärtungen in der Brustdrüse sowie Veränderungen der Milchfarbe beobachtet, es sind Klümpchen in der Milch vorhanden und es gibt eine große Anzahl von Leukozyten in der Milch (Sharma und Maiti, 2010). Bei SCM gibt es keine groben entzündlichen Veränderungen im Eutergewebe und keine Veränderungen des physischen Aussehens der Milch. Lediglich eine erhöhte somatische Zellzahl (SCC) in der Milch, das Vorhandensein von pathogenen Organismen in der Milch und eine Entzündungsreaktion, die nur durch Screening-Tests wie den California Mastitis Test (CMT), den White Side Test (WST) und den Surf Field Mastitis Test (SFMT) nachgewiesen werden kann (Sachin und Suresh 2006; Madut et al., 2009).
