The covers show some wear on the faces, around the edges and on the outside of the spine. Several of the first pages are a little loose but all are present and attached. Original brown blindstamp boards, with gilt on spine strip still bright, lightly soiled and shelfworn, with wear along edges, both spine ends chipped with wear along spine strip (front and rear gutter) on volume 2 and both volumes edge points gently bumped and worn to boards. Page edges soiled.  Internally, both volumes have age toning to yellow end-pages with a large bookplate to inside front boards of both volumes with a different previous owners name stamped to both 1st free end-pages. Both volumes have foxing scattered throughout with volume 2 having old damp stains to bottom edge of both ends of book, diminishing as book progresses. Both bindings are tight with hinges intact. Overall, a good solid copy.

First Edition. Signed and Inscribed by author. Historical fiction about Virginia Dare, the first child born in America on Roanoke Island. Very Good but for small red stains to inside cover and some foxing to endpapers and page ends, in a Nearly Very Good dustjacket with modest edge wear, few short closed tears and worn through at corners and spine ends, mild surface wear and soiling, few small nicks and spine darkened.
