Texten till visan skrevs dock av Wendela Hebbe till dottern Signe Heb…be (1837-1925), den senare kända sångerskan och skådespelerskan, antagligen då denna var sjutton år gammal. Hon kallade visan "När jag blev sjutton år" efter den andra strofens inledning och som förlaga använde hon en visa i sånghäftet Filikromen, ?Fjortan år va ja i Felpesta.. Softcover / Paperback.
