Heinrich UFFELMANN (1641-1680), Sohn des königlichen rates und klöniglichen Richters in Verden Burchard Uffelmann, besuchte das Gymnasium in Bremen und studierte ab 1658 Theologie an der Un…iversität Gießen. 1660 erwarb er den Magister in der philsoophischen Fakultät. Ein Jahre später begann er Vorlesungen an der Universität Helmstedt zu halten, wo er 1665 zum professor für Ethik ernannt wurde. 1676 wurde er zum Doktor der Theologie promoviert. Publiziert hat Uffelmann eine Reihe von Disputationen, der er an der Universität Helmstedt abhegalten hat. "Hominem esse animal sociale" unter diesem gesichtspunkt untersucht Uffelmann den Grad der Verbindlichkeit, die der Mensch als soziales Wesen in einer Gemeinschaft durch Worte, gespräch, Vereinbarung eingeht, auch unter juristischen gesichtspunkten. Uffelmann zitiert das Werk von Hugo Grotius und erwähnt auch Samuel Pufendorf mit seinem Hauptwerk (S. 21), das vier Jahre zuvor in Lund erstmals erschienen ist. Sprache: lateinisch.
