Umschlag an den Kanten teils berieben und am Rücken etwas nachgedunkelt (aber keine Ein- oder Ausrisse). Rücken des Einbandes ebenfalls gering nachgedunkelt und Vorsätze papierbedingt etwas gebräunt. Gutes Exemplar. Erste illustrierte Ausgabe, erschien erstmals 1948 in Saarbrücken. Vorne innen Aufkleber "Sonderausgabe Freunde der Weltliteratur Leasegemeinschaft". Der Verfasser war einer der frühen Rundfunkredakteure bei Radio Saarbrücken und arbeitete später beim Fernsehen. Er drehte über 100 Filme und schrieb eine ganze Reihe satirischer und humoristischer Bücher, ein Kinderbuch sowie Bücher über die Künstler Michael M. Prechtl und Fritz Aigner. Sein wahrscheinlich bedeutendstes Werk ist der Schelmenroman "Narrenschaukel" (1984), eine satirische Darstellung des Medienbetriebs und zugleich ein Schlüsselroman über den kommunistischen Schriftsteller und Journalisten Gustav Regler (frei nach der Heinz-Dieckmann-Bibliographie von Marc Nauhauser - online beim Literaturarchiv Saarland).
