Finch, a distinguished lawyer and Member of Parliament from an eminent family, held several high legal posts. He was Lord Chancellor of England from 1675 to 1682. Only very minor bumping to corners. Front endpapers reveal details of previous ownership. Ex libris bookplate of 'Seymour Redmayne Schofield' (b. Ormskirk Lancs. 1899) to front free endpaper.
