Red marbled patterned slipcase; some soiling; patches or surface peeling/abrasion most prevalent to slipcase's left side panel; slender wear at seams which remain firm; rear panel's paper title label remains intact. Wrinkled/creased acetate dust jacket with usual toning; dj lacks bottom half of spine; small chips, nicks, and some tears at edges. Hardcover - half-leather binding (English vermilion crushed sheepskin with red cloth boards of imported English buckram); red spine leather scuffed near heel with small loss to publisher's imprint lettering. Laid-in between pages 146-147 are LEC's pre-shipment "Number Ten" paper slip (which announces pagination as 320) and folded four page "The Monthly Letter of The Limited Editions Club" for January 12, 1953, Number 236. Interior pages are clean. Binding is firm.
