Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good Minus. 1st Edition. First Edition (Paul S. Erickkson= NAP until 1973). Signed and inscribed by the author on the first front end paper (see photo). As you can see from the photos, the blue covers are exceptionally clean and in excellent condition. The edges and corners are free of wear. The lettering on the spine is very bright. The spine is slightly slanted forward, but the book is very solidly bound from cover to cover, with nicely tight pages throughout. These pages are also very clean. I'm scrolling through without seeing any soiling. They are also free of any creasing or dogeared corners. And there are no markings anywhere, no attachments of any kind, and with the exception of the signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first couple of photos. It is in solid shape. It does have some handling soiling, mostly on the rear cover. Otherwise, there is just a little bit of wear, a couple of a tiny tears off the top edge of the spine. The flaps are in nice condition. They have just a little bit of very light spotting. There are no tears, no creases. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. From the dust jacket: 'Henry Viiscardi, Jr. was born without legs and was the founder and president of Abilities, Inc., a thriving manufacturing company in the electronics field where every one of the 400-plus workers was severely disabled. With a background of triumph in his personal and business life, with his resulting richness of experience and depth of understanding, he is extraordinarily well endowed for the task of teaching others how to make their abilities not their disabilities, count here are hope, faith and practicality blended into an inspiring message for all who are concerned with the "Jimmies" of the world.' From the author's Wikipedia profile: 'Henry Viscardi Jr. was an American disability rights advocate who championed the cause of equality and employment of disabled people in workforce. In 1952 on Mrs Roosevelt's advise, he founded Abilities, Inc. which has now expanded to the Viscardi center, a non-profit organization advocating for the empowerment of people with disabilities and a global leader. To provide equal opportunities to children with disabilities of all ages he founded Human Resources School in Albertson, New York in 1952 which was later renamed as the Henry Viscardi School in his honour. He served as advisor to several US presidents bringing many policy changes in the disability sector. In his honour, the Viscardi Centre in 2013 started the Henry Viscardi Achievement Awards to identify and recognize exemplary leaders from the disability community.' Mr. Viscardi died in 2004 at the age of 91. The book is dedicated to Bernard M. Baruch. Inscribed by Author(s).
