This being the hardcover, scarce, in overall very good condition. From the home of a tobacco smoker, with requisite toning, particularly at the edges of the DJ, and a faint odor, not so offensive. The jacket has a moderately sized closed tear on the front panel, a smaller but more abrasive one at the bottom of the frton panel which adjoins a moderately sized diagonal crease as well. Small chip and closed tear to the back panel. Some rubbing and scuffing elsewhere, now in brodart. Binding is solid, no damage or noticeable wear. Interior is clean, though lightly age toned, and unmarked. 1st edition thus following the original edition of 1912, intro by Booker T Washington, scarce in any condition. …
