Dust jacket rubbed and toned with several short tears and some bumping; title's red band retains bright color to…front panel but strongly faded to spine; front flap's top corner is clipped but publisher's printed price still present at bottom right; strong vertical crease to rear flap. Red cloth spine; blue boards. Foxing to text block's top edge. Author's boldly written four-line ink inscription "For | Tom Prather | with best wishes | of Herb Block" on front free endpaper; interior pages are bright and clean. Binding retains some crispness. Dust jacket rubbed with rear panel also soiled; strong sunning to spine; nicks, scuffs, a few tears, and some creasing/bumping at edges; front flap retains publisher's printed price a…t bottom right. White cloth spine; fading/discoloration to blue boards. Laid-in at front endpapers are two clippings from Chicago Sun-Times (one regarding April 1973 Herb Block attendance at a luncheon where this book may have been signed) and October 2001 U.S. News & World Report announcing the political cartoonist's passing.
