Book has soiling to the edges of the pageblock, a stain on the bottom edge of the pageblock, and shelfwear to the base of the spine. Roger Casement was British diplomat who was convicted of treason and executed in 1916 for trying to bring German arms to the 1916 Easter Uprising that sought to attain Irish independence. Copies of the alleged diaries detailing homosexual activities, were circulated to prevent campaigns for clemency. Some assessments have concluded that these diaries were forged. Mackey is the editor of "Crimes Against Europe: The Writings and Poetry of Roger Casement" and the author of "The Life of Thomas Moore". Rare signed.
