Norbert Wermes ist Physikprofessor an der Universität Bonn mit dem Forschungsgebiet experimentelle Elementarteilchenphysik und Detektorentwicklung. Vorher forschte er an den Forschungszentren DESY und CERN sowie in Stanford und Heidelberg. Mit seiner Gruppe ist er an den Großexperimenten ATLAS (CERN) und Belle II am japanischen ForschungszentrumKEK beteiligt.
