Hermann Vultejus (1555 - 1634) studierte zunächst an d…er Universität Heidelberg und zwar vor allem deshalb, weil er unter anderem bei dem berühmten Franzosen Hugo Donellus Vorlesungen hören wollte. Später schloss er seine Studien an der Universität zu Marburg ab. Im Jahre 1576 ging Vultejus nach Genf, wo er sich unter anderem mit Franciscus Hotomanus anfreundete. In Genf hielt Vultejus einige Privatvorlesungen ab, lernte die Methode und Dialektik des Petrus Ramus kennen, zog im Sommer 1577 nach Italien weiter und verweilte vom Oktober 1577 bis Ende Januar 1578 an der venezianischen Universität zu Padua, wo er insbesondere die Vorlesungen von Jacobus Menochius besuchte. Den Abschluss seiner langen peregrinatio academica bildet seine Promotion in Basel, die er am 2. Februar 1580 unter Basilius Amerbach abgelegt hat. Im Jahre 1580 nimmt Vultejus seine Vorlesung in Marburg auf, im Dezember 1581 wird er Professor der Institutionen. Seinen ersten Vorlesungszyklus zu den Institutionen begann Vultejus am 10. Januar 1582 und beendete diesen am 18. In Marburg war ein Schwerpunkt des Rechtsstudiums die Integration der rechtspraktischen Ausbildung. Ausgangspunkt für die erste Untersuchung ist die einschlägige Codexstelle: "omnis difficilis & perplexus". Die zweite Abhandlung beinhaltet ausgesuchte Stelle aus den Digesten, die Vultejus im Laufe der Jahre in seinen akademischen Vorlesungen vorgetragen und erörtert hat, aber auch Erörterungen über Instrumentarien innerhalb des Rechtsunterrichts, etwa das Zitieren: "Citare quid sit". Hermann VULTEJUS (1555-1634) studierte in Marburg und Heidelberg, besuchte im Jahre 1576 Genf, wo er auch den grußen französischen Juristen Francois HOTMAN und den italienischen JUristen Julius PACIUS kennenlernte. Er nahm auch die Gelegenheit wahr, den Ramismus zu studieren und hielt wenig später in Genf erste deutsche Vorlesungen über die Dialektik von Pierre RAMUS. In den Jahren 1577 bis 1578 schloß sich eine italienische Studienreise an, die ihn voir allem an die Universität Padua führte. Anschließend wurde Vultejus Professor an der Universität MArburg, der er trotz vielfacher Rufe an andere Universitäten treu blieb. Sein Hauptwerk sit ein Lehrbuch zum Justinianischen Recht, das ebenfalls stark vom Ramismus beeinflusst worden ist. Es ist eine vollständige Übersicht der römischen Rechts in kurzen Lehrsätzen.
