He was the first to prove that 'e', the base of natural logarithms, is a transcendental number. His methods were used later by Ferdinand von Lindemann to prove that 'Pi' is transcendental. --- Corners slightly-, top of spine and sharp corners stronger rubbed; titlepage of #I with old officially cancelled librarystamps, few pages with slight foxing; A VERY GOOD COPY OF THE COHERENT COLLECTION.
