Ironically, Hetsch was to later work for the department, without qualms, that declared Modersohn-Becker's work as degenerate art and had it removed from public gaze. The card covers are worn, marked, tanned, creased and stained. They are secure. The contents are passive. They are stained about the bottom spine corners.
