Dieser veröffentlichte Standpunkt ist oft zu hören.… In weiten Kreisen gilt, daß Heimerziehung kaum in der Lage ist, auf die Problemlagen der Kinder und Jugendlichen einzugehen, geschweige denn, ihnen bei der Bewältigung ihrer aktuellen Lebenskrise hilft. Angesichts dieser Urteile gilt es zu hinterfragen, wie die Auswirkungen der Heimerziehung auf das Erleben und Verhalten ihrer Bewohner sind. Innerhalb meiner Arbeit möchte ich mich mit folgenden Fragen auseinandersetzen: Welche Auswirkungen hat eine Heimsozialisation für die Persönlichkeitsentwicklung der Bewohner? Wie muß Heimerziehung gestaltet sein, um negative Sozialisationsfaktoren zu minimieren? Als Grundlage meiner Arbeit habe ich mir das Modell der ökologischen Sozialsationsforschung gewählt. Dieses erläutere ich in den folgenden Abschnitten genauer. Anschließend untersuche ich einzelne Systemmerkmale von Heimen in Bezug auf ihre Auswirkungen auf die Persönlichkeitsentwicklung . Im praktischen Teil meiner Arbeit stelle ich exemplarisch einen Jungen aus einem Kinderheim vor. Dabei gehe ich auf dominierende Verhaltensweisen, mit verursacht oder verstärkt durch neunjährige Heimerziehung, ein. In seiner Heimbiographie möchte ich Kritikpunkte aufzeigen und Alternativen darstellen. In großen Teilen der Öffentlichkeit besitzt Heimerziehung ein negatives Image. Weitverbreitete Meinungen sind: - Heimerziehung ist das letzte Mittel und die Vorstufe zum Gefängnis. - In Heimen werden kriminelle Jugendliche untergebracht, die selbst daran schuld sind. Zugleich wird den Heimen abgesprochen, effektive Hilfe zu leisten, da sie Anonymität ausstrahlen, die Kinder ohne feste Bezugspersonen aufwachsen und keinen Raum zur Individualität lassen. Dass verschiedenartige Angebot von stationären Jugendhilfeeinrichtungen macht es schwer, von der Heimerziehung im allgemeinen zu sprechen. Innerhalb meiner Arbeit werde ich dennoch versuchen, übergreifende Systemmerkmale herauszuarbeiten. Um der Mannigfaltigkeit gerecht zu werden, gehe ich auf Binneneigenschaften von Heimen gesondert ein.
