Payable in New York or San Francisco Funds. Riveted Clothing.".

A Good copy. An original billhead (monthly statement) from Woodin & Little of San Francisco, California to "P. H. Hjul" of Eureka, Nevada. P. H. Hjul operated a store of the same name. There is one line item for July 22, "To Mdse.," at $19.30. The printed header reads, "Monthly Statement; To Woodin & Little Dr., Importers and Dealers in Pumps and Windmills, Gas and Gasoline Engines, Pipe, Pipe Fittings, Brass Goods, Hose, Etc., Sole Agents for the Gould's Manufacturing Co.'s Pumps, 312 and 314 Market Street, Junction of Bush Street.".

Note is very clean and intact overall except for light to moderate age toning, a few horizontal fold lines, slight wrinkling, and a small hole at top (not affecting text). A Very Good copy. An original business note from the Sacramento Glass and Crockery Company of Sacramento, California to P. H. Hjul of Eureka, Nevada. P. H. Hjul operated a store of the same name in Eureka. The note is brief and reads, "Dear Sir, We acknowledge the receipt of your remittance of [$]44.30 to balance account 1893 for which please accept our thanks, and soliciting a continuance of your favors, we are, Very truly yours, Sacramento Glass & Crockery Co. [printed company signature], Per [Colton?]. "Colton" is signed and is possibly a representative of the company. The printed header reads, "Office of Sacramento Glass and Crockery Co., Importers of China, Crockery, Glassware, Etc., 629 J Street, 920 and 922 Seventh Street.".

Datelined December 16, 1890 in Sacramento, California. 8 1/4" x 4 1/2." Billhead is very clean and intact except for moderate age toning, a few small wrinkles, a small stain not affecting text, a paper stub tipped in on back right edge, and a closed tear measuring about 2 1/4" on the front left edge (repaired by paper stub on back). A Very Good copy. An original billhead from Hale Brothers & Company of Sacramento to P. H. Hjul, an undertaker in Eureka, Nevada. P. H. Hjul purchased one line item, a "Suit." The printed header reads, "Bought of Hale Bros. & Co., Cor Ninth & K Streets; Direct Importers of Dry Goods, Fancy Goods, Ladies Cloaks, Men's & Boy's Clothing, Hats & Caps, Boots & Shoes, Men's Furnishings Goods, Trunks, Valises, Notions. Mail Order Department; Orders by Mail Receive Special Attention." Hale Brothers & Company was founded in 1876 or 1880 by Marshall Hale. Hale Bros. was dry goods company that featured both brick-and-mortar and mail-order services. Marshall's grandsons, including Prentiss Cobb Hale, would continue his legacy by operating the family business under the same name. In 1949, Hale's bought Weinstock's and then merged with Broadway Department Stores later that year.
