Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. 2nd Edition. 1958, 52pp, illustrated. Fabrikoid covers. Front outer hinge beginning to crack, else G+. Inscribed, dated, and signed by the author. The author was the curator of the Foster Hall Collection at the University of Pittsburgh. A short life of Foster and the words of one of Foster's most enduring songs, Way Down Upon de Swanee River, also known as Old Folks at Home, illustrated with drawings, published 1851, and adopted as Florida's state song in 1935. In 1950, the state of Florida opened the Stephen Foster Memorial on the Suwannee River at White Springs. Of course, one of Foster's songs was also adopted by Kentucky, my home state, as its state song. I wonder if anyone else has written two state songs. Signed by Author(s).
