Si tratta decisamente di una delle più belle opere storiche su Parigi in cui i più importanti quartieri vengono illustrati dall'architetto Hoffbauer (1839-1922) nella sua evoluzione architettonica dal tardo medio evo all'800. Veramente affascinanti le tavole a colori. I testi sono di Edouard Fournier, Paul Lacroix, A. de Montaiglon, A. Bonnardot, Jules Cousin, Franklin, Valentin Dufour, ecc.
