CONDITION: Covers little rubbed and with small cut to side; light damp stain to bottom inner margin of the first 30 plates (mostly affecting the blank margin); occasional foxing and browning. Still an attractive set. Size: 11 X 8 1/2 Inches. (28 X 21 Cms.).

Thereafter, other editions with these plates were published throughout the eighteenth century. This 1732 edition features clear, sharp impressions of the plates, unlike some of the later editions. The frontis plate of "Mr Samual Butler" is by J Van der Gucht, scul(ptor). Four Hogarth plates. One Van der Gucht plate, additional fold-out plates (un-attributed). Miscellaneous chapter embellishments throughout. Each of the Three Parts separately titled, with Part III printed for B Motte [1732].
