Billhead is very clean and intact overall. Paper has a center horizontal fold line at center. Small spot at the top not affecting text or handwriting. Two pinholes not affecting text or handwriting. Tiny chip at the right edge. Small black and white illustration in the upper-left corner shows the storefront, possibly in Old Sacramento, California, with horse-drawn carts and people walking around or working. Text over the illustration says, "Incorporated August 28th 1882." The handwritten portions include the name of the buyer, the item(s)/service(s) purchased, and the price of the item(s)/service(s). The buyer was "V.[?] Kendal." Items/service(s) are written on four lines of the receipt and include "Coal Grate," "Setting up Range," a pipe, and "Brass Collar." The printed text reads, "[Buyer name] Bought of Holbrook, Merrill & Stetson, Importers & Dealers in Stoves, Metals, Tinware, Pumps, Iron Pipe, House Furnishing Goods & Tinners Trimmings; Jobbing of every description done to order.
