Also Shana Kushner and Amy Gershkoff say that'9/11' has become an 'ideograph in the sense that the historical event represents anattack on the beliefs, values, attitudes and 'way of life' within the United States'. Notonly in the English language '9/11' has become a 'dictum' but in many others, too.In this term paper I want to take a closer look on the speech President Bushdelivered on September 20, 2001 as State of the Union Address to a joint session ofCongress. In my analysis I will go through the speech step by step in order to figureout the main points Bush is making. From there I want to continue with its effects andinfluence on the discourse about 'war on terror'. Dabei ist die Geschichte des Abendmahls so alt wie die des Christentums selbst. Über die Jahrhunderte haben sich aber konfessionelle Unterschiede manifestiert, sodass Abendmahlsgemeinschaft teilweise nicht möglich ist. Das spiegelt sich auch in den verschiedenen Begrifflichkeiten wider. Auf katholischer Seite spricht man eher von Eucharistie, also wird besonders das Element der Danksagung betont. Dieser Begriff wurde schon in der Didache verwendet. In den ökumenischen Dialogen begegnet der Begriff Herrenmahl, der auf Paulus zurückgeht. Luther übersetzte dagegen den Begriff deipnon mit Abendmahl. Dieser Begriff betont den Bezug zum Abschiedsmahl Jesu. Trotz der verschiedenen Auffassungen gibt es immer wieder Bestrebungen die konfessionellen Schranken zu überwinden. Gelungen ist dies z.B. auf dem evangelischen Kirchentag 2011 in Dresden. Die gemeinsame Abendmahlsfeier von Katholiken und Protestanten geschah auf Grundlage der Lima-Liturgie von 1982. Neben der Theoligie beschäftigt sich auch die Kunst mit dem Motiv des Abendmahls. Berühmtestes Beispiel ist wohl das Gemälde von Da Vinci, welches Jesus mit seinen 12 Jüngern beim letzten Abendmahl darstellt.Ausgehend von der Frage worin das Abendmahl seinen Ursprung hat, soll zunächst die Forschungsgeschichte betrachtet werden. Daraufhin folgt ein biblischer Befund aus dem Neuen Testament, bevor ein chronologischer Abriss der Abendmahlsentwicklungen erfolgt. Da dieser Essay dem Überblick dient, werden nur Schlaglichter der Geschichte herausgestellt.

(Svetlana, 20). Most of the older studiesfocus on the synchronic aspects whereas newer studies also take a diachronic view intoconsideration (cf. Burmasova, 10). Furthermore, morphological and orthographic aspectsplay a role in addition of the frequency of use (cf. Burmasova, 11).Nowadays, there are a lot of critical voices which reject the use of anglicisms because theyfear a loss of German language heritage. There are even some initiatives providingequivalents for every English word. The Verein deutscher Sprache (Association of theGerman Language), for instance, emphasizes the importance of German equivalents Thus,the question is whether it is possible to find equivalents for every anglicisms and if thoseequivalents are suitable. Moreover, the question arises if anglicisms are on the rise to anextend where they may threaten the German language.In this term paper, I want to take a closer look on the use of anglicisms in the press in orderto find an answer to these questions. In the course of this, I want to refer to studies byNICOLE PLUMER, ALEXANDRA ZURN and CHRISTIANE GOTZELER. I also want to provide somesamples from Stern and Bild and present my own results. Before that, a definition of theterm anglicism will be given. Moreover, I want to take historical developments intoconsideration, including German reactions to certain changes. After that, a classification ofanglicisms will be provided in order to become aware of the different types. Furthermore, I want to present some linguistic changes connected to anglicisms. Lastly, I want to providesome considerations concerning the language of the press and present my own little studyin this field before I come to my conclusion.

Dabei ist die Geschichte des Abendmahls so alt wie die des Christentums selbst. Über die Jahrhunderte haben sich aber konfessionelle Unterschiede manifestiert, sodass Abendmahlsgemeinschaft teilweise nicht möglich ist. Das spiegelt sich auch in den verschiedenen Begrifflichkeiten wider. Auf katholischer Seite spricht man eher von Eucharistie, also wird besonders das Element der Danksagung betont. Dieser Begriff wurde schon in der Didache verwendet. In den ökumenischen Dialogen begegnet der Begriff Herrenmahl, der auf Paulus zurückgeht. Luther übersetzte dagegen den Begriff deipnon mit Abendmahl. Dieser Begriff betont den Bezug zum Abschiedsmahl Jesu. Trotz der verschiedenen Auffassungen gibt es immer wieder Bestrebungen die konfessionellen Schranken zu überwinden. Gelungen ist dies z.B. auf dem evangelischen Kirchentag 2011 in Dresden. Die gemeinsame Abendmahlsfeier von Katholiken und Protestanten geschah auf Grundlage der Lima-Liturgie von 1982. Neben der Theoligie beschäftigt sich auch die Kunst mit dem Motiv des Abendmahls. Berühmtestes Beispiel ist wohl das Gemälde von Da Vinci, welches Jesus mit seinen 12 Jüngern beim letzten Abendmahl darstellt.Ausgehend von der Frage worin das Abendmahl seinen Ursprung hat, soll zunächst die Forschungsgeschichte betrachtet werden. Daraufhin folgt ein biblischer Befund aus dem Neuen Testament, bevor ein chronologischer Abriss der Abendmahlsentwicklungen erfolgt. Da dieser Essay dem Überblick dient, werden nur Schlaglichter der Geschichte herausgestellt. 16 pp. Deutsch.
