Kurt Wiese (1887-1974), gebürtig aus Minden und später in die USA emigriert, hat viele Kinderbücher illustriert. China hatte ihn in jungen Jahren durch seine dortige Ausbildung und, während des 1. Weltkrieges, dortige Gefangenschaft geprägt. Sein Illustrationswerk wurde vom chinesischen Stil stark beeinflußt (s. wikipedia v. 21.09.2017), so auch in dem vorliegenden China-(Jugend-)Roman von Pricilla Holton (-Neff) von 1931. - Einband nur minimal aufgehellt. Insg. wohlerhaltenes Exemplar / All in all a very good copy.
