Softcover. 0 (illustratore). First edition; 5 1/2 x 8 1/2; pp. 4; illustrated wraps; very minor wear, near fine. Illustrated with facsimiles. The pamphlet presents a short list with photographs of some of the highlights of the Doctor Zhivago-related materials donated to the Hoover Institution by renowned bibliophile and collector Irwin T. "Tobie" Holtzman. A small post-it note on the title page, written in Toby's hand reads: "For the shop of Peter Howard." Peter was the legendary long-time owner of Serendipity Books in Berkeley, CA whose death in 2011 left a big void in the book selling world. Apparently, the pamphlet did reach 'Serendipity Books.' Page 3 bears Peter Howard's scribbled notations. 2.

Softcover. Condizione: Fine. Stapled tan wrappers printed in black; graphic reproductions, images, throughout; 5 full page black & white portrait photographs in rear along with two full page drawings by David Levine. Laid in are 19 loose photocopy sheets; five are gathered with a paper clip and involve correspondence from Anne Kjellberg, Executor and Trustee of The Estate of Josephy Brodsky. The first page is a copy of a typed letter to Mr. Benjamin Stoz, Slavic Dept. , with three holograph notes addressed to 'Peter' initialed I. T. H, on yellow post-its affixed to the page. The other four pages are correspondence from Kjellberg to 'Friends of Joseph', with a fax number and NY Review of Books on top margin. One loose page is on the letterhead of Irwin T. Holtzman containing holograph notes dated 10/30 98, with the headline "Where Is?" , and 5 numbered items in question. Signed in the lower right corner "MORE AFTER THESE ARRIVE . . . ITH. " Another gathered 5 pages involves the correspondence of Tom Bigelow to Ann Kjellberg and others. Finally, 8 copy pages of Bigelow's, Josph Brodsky, A Descriptive Bibliography, A Work in Progress - with another post-it note to "Peter, Best Brodsky in the World / Will ship with books to Hoover next week, Elena Danielson, I. T. H." We begin to wonder if 'Peter' might be the late Peter Howard, of Serendipity Books in Berkeley. In any case an interesting glimpse behind the scenes. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 90 pages.
