Eine Palette von sozialen (Informationen, Hinweise, Hilfestellungen bei Geldwechsel oder Gepäckbeschaffung), liturgischen Angeboten (Gottesdienste, Sakramentenspendung, Messfeier auf Überseedampfern) und seelsorglicher Betreuung (Trost, Beistand, Beichte) gewährleisteten eine ganzheitliche Begleitung und vermittelten den Frauen, Männern und Kindern auf ihren Stationen der Emigration zumindest ansatzweise ein Gefühl der Geborgenheit und Einbindung in eine überregionale Gemeinschaft.
