39x50 cm. Uncolored map, previously folded, of this rural county in central South Dakota, adjacent to the Nebraska state line. Small separations at some fold junctions, short splits along folds from edges. There are no large towns in the county, but several smaller villages are identified. Also shown are many schools and missions. The map extends south into Nebraska to show the rail line from Valentine to Cody. The map was likely published shortly after the establishment of Mellette County immediately to the north in 1909. This dating arises from the erroneous printed depiction of the Mellette County line on this map. Two rubber stamps indicate the actual line which is one set of townships south of the line on the map. Todd County is now wholly within the Rosebud Indian Reservation. Two of the larger features identified on the map are the Rosebud Boarding School and the Rosebud Agency. There are no printing credits at all, with the only identifier being the advertising imprint of Roberts & Hospers who would appear to have been real estate agents in Valentine, Nebraska and Lakeview, South Dakota.
