J.J. on a blank front endpaper. She wrote an important piece on Hsieh which was included in her book Secret Lives in Art. Mr. Hsieh, a performance artist extraordinaire, tested the limits of human experience over a lifetime of creating and then following through with concept art that demanded singleness of purpose and extraordinary discipline to execute to completion. His projects have become synonymous with the experimentation of the 70's. Several of those projects are captured in stark black and white photographs included in this book. PLUS a second related book also included with purchase. SECRET LIVES IN ART, Jill Johnston, 1994, a cappella books, First paperback edition and first paperback printing.
