(Hors Commerce) is warmly inscribed by the artist to Francis E. Dubois in New York, 1931. It includes a suite of 5 proof plates in a green silk moire pocket at rear. Four of the plates… appear in the book (opposite pages 12, 96, 124, and 252); the other appears to have been omitted. Each of the plates features an elaborate border of original watercolor of figures and scenes in sepia (about 65 in total) from the book, each signed at lower right by Huard. Folio - between 12 in. - 15 in. Housed in a beatutiful and unique exhibition binding by Bennett of New York, in full green morocco with stylized geometric tooling, spine with raised bands, inner dentelles feature three gilt fillets, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers; silk moire pocket for the suite at rear, original wrappers bound in (some rubbing to edges and joints). Text in French. The edition that this copy hails from was 525 numbered copies.
